Hopefully by now your team has seen you multiple times in your personal space. By now you have opened your home to them via video call, and they have done the same.
Use these difficult times to build a deeper trust with your people. Sharing a bit of who you are and what you care for is a first step to building that trust. People will only trust you if you trust them too.
Be curious about your team members. Promote a weekly “virtual after-hours gathering” where you don’t talk about work but about how people are coping with spending so much time at home.
You can promote conversations about who you are as a team and why you do what you do – finding a common purpose together. Challenge them to come up with a name, an image or a brand for the team. You will be stimulating their creativity and getting their minds together around some fun and deep stuff! Try it and keep your people motivated with this tip!
